SEMESTER is a research and design studio, working across scales from everyday objects to buildings and cities.

Founded by Manus Leung, Wenting Guo, and Yun Fu during their student days at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, the studio draws on expertise in architecture, industrial design, interaction design, and urban design to work within and beyond traditional design practice, adapting to the evolving nature of contemporary challenges and opportunities.

The studio has realized a diverse and acclaimed body of work, balancing big-picture thinking with strategic application to deliver more playful and sustainable ways of living. SEMESTER has received awards from a breadth of disciplines, including the Rome Prize from the British School, the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and the Australian Home of Tomorrow Prize.

With studios in Boston and Hong Kong, SEMESTER works with a multi-disciplinary network of collaborators to realize projects internationally. In parallel with design practice, the partners also serve as faculty members at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and the University of New South Wales.
